DID YOU KNOW?

Swimming is one of the best activities for the entire body. You work against the resistance of the water, and stay cool and comfortable while getting a low impact workout.

Welcome to the Kingsbury Club Aquatics Center...
...The Best in New England!

Our 330,000 gallon, 25 yard X 25 meter (75’ X 83’) heated swimming pool is by far the only pool of its kind in New England. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, you and your family can soak up some sunshine, bask in the shade of our several shelters, or enjoy a poolside snack from the “snack shack”- offering drinks, snacks, sandwiches, and meals hot off the grill. But don’t think that this open-air facility is too chilly in the winter for your aquatic pleasure! From the early Fall to late Spring, this fully heated pool is enclosed in a “bubble” — a 60’ high dome enclosure — of which the air inside is usually heated to a comfortable 75 degrees. Other features of the Aquatic Center include, but are not limited to,

  • A 20’ X 20’ 3’6’’ deep wading pool
  • A depth of 3’6” at the shallowest points, and 10’ at its deepest.
  • Up to 8 lanes lengthwise, 10 lanes widthwise
  • Deck around pool is 14,000 Sq ft.

With a facility like this available, of course we have extensive programming to go along with it. From swim teams to aqua fitness (water aerobics)- there’s something for everyone! But, despite all of the ongoing programming, the Kingsbury Club aquatic center makes it a policy that there must always be open lap swimming available to its members. For those who prefer a “quiet” swim, the quietest hours at the pool are between 11am and 3pm on weekdays.

The Kingsbury Club currently offers the following programs:

Group Exercise Only 1/10 of your body's weight is absorbed by the joints when in the water! Join one of our group aquatic classes.
USS Swim Club For those kids that want to move up and be challenged at a new level, Kingsbury Swim Club offers swimmers an opportunity to compete on a USS swim team.

Launched in September 2003 and headed by Jay Craft, former Olympic Trials swimmer and NCAA Division 1 All American, the newly formed United States Swimming team will provide all levels of swimming, from dual meets and state competitions to the 2004 United States Olympic Trials. Craft hopes to provide more opportunities for swimmers at all levels to train and compete year round.

This program will require a larger commitment from kids than the regular swim team. Participants will travel to much larger meets and compete all throughout New England and even on a national scale. Kids may, and are encouraged to, compete on both teams.

Masters Program Don’t let the name fool you! The Masters program is for adults of all swimming abilities and backgrounds. Coach Brian Noyes, swimmer and triathlete, focuses the swim workouts on stroke technique, with a goal of building efficient swimmers while improving your conditioning. Whether you’re a beginner, a regular lap swimmer looking for new ways to improve your workouts, or a triathlete getting ready for the summer season, this is the program for you.
Fitness Swimming Designed to help the beginner to intermediate triathlete get prepared for a triathlon. Participants focus on stroke development, building endurance and working towards personal goals.
Scuba Diving The scuba course is taught at the Kingsbury Club by Diver’s Market Scuba Center, a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) 5 STAR Training Facility.
Spash Club Kids will play a variety of sports related water games such as baseball, volleyball, basketball and water polo.
Private/Semi-Private Swim Lessons Private swim lessons are designed to meet your child’s individual needs and goals, This one-on-one experience will benefit those students who require additional instruction and support. This type of instruction is also beneficial to the more advanced student who wants to fine tune their swimming skills.
Group Swim Lessons The Kingsbury Club is proud to bring you its swim lesson program. The swim lessons are based on the American Red Cross program, with our focus on high quality and low student-to-teacher ratios. There are several levels to choose from depending upon your child’s comfort and/or swimming ability. Classes range from our Water Babies, which begins at 6-months, to the Coached Swim Clinic taken by preteens and teenagers, and everything in between. The goal of the program is to create safety awareness around the water, while building a strong, efficient swimmer that enjoys the water for fitness as well as recreation. If you have any questions regarding your child’s swimming level, or any general questions about our program, please call the aquatic director.
